September 25 1750 - Birthday of geologist Abraham Werner.
September 27 2003 - First European mission to the Moon, Smart 1 was launched
September 28 1969, The Murchison Meteorite fell in Australia. This carbonaceous chondrite meteorite sparked interest as it may be of cometary origin and contains an abundance of amino acids.
September 28 1915 - marks the death of French geologist Nicolas Desmarest, who work on volcanic basalts helping to prove the existance of igneous rocks.
September 29 1988, Space Shuttle Discovery lifts off, as the first manned space mission after the Challenger disaster.

"GeoClub," the The Earth and Planetary Sciences Student Association (EPSSA), is a loose, non-formal organization which is open to anyone (grad, undergrad, any major, etc) interested in geology or Earth Science. We sponsor and host activities such as field trips, dinners, projects. Click here for more information about specific events or projects. Our Events are mostly paid for by geoclub funds, so there are no offical dues or meetings.
