IMAGES OF THE 2005 BRAZOS RIVER KT BOUNDARY FIELD TRIP

On Sunday, March 13th, 2005, the Impact Field Studies Group hosted its second annual LPSC field trip. This year we visited the KT boundary exposures on the bank of the Brazos, River and two of its small tributaries in Falls Co., Texas. All together, 26 IFSG members and guests rendezvoused at the bridge over the Brazos River. The weather was great, with a temperature of 84 °F, a clear blue sky and a gusty breeze. Our guide was Dr. Alan Hildebrand of the University of Calgary, who wove a fascinating description of the KT stratigraphy associated with the great extinction.
